Our past life..

Observing others..

I am sure there are more than just two broad practices which prevent us from happiness. But this quote actually gets you thinking. Many of us live in the past, and allow past unhappiness to haunt our present day. Is happiness a choice?

I believe it is, every one of us, have some challenge in life to deal with. It depends on what you choose to focus on in life. The challenges pulling you down, or the challenges which you can overcome and rise up. I have personally managed to charge myself every morning, with a small but effective morning workout routine. This could be a game of badminton OR squash, a brisk walk in the park or your neighbourhood, and my favourite an intense exercise routine. The past is just a memory, it cannot be changed and it cannot be forgotten. It is up to us to decide how much time, we allocate to the past.

Some of us have been very successful in the past, and face challenges today. We tend to live in the past to avoid being pulled down by the present.

Another habit some of us have developed, is the habit of comparison. Observing others lives, and how happy or unhappy they are. The fact is, both you and the person you observe are in disconnected paths of life. While observing the other, might bring you temporary joy, pride and some form of entertainment, it will not change your course in life.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Albert Einstein

This quote above, explains why we should refrain from comparing our lives with others. While ability of every individual is different, the circumstances in which we grow up are also very different. There are always going to be ups and downs in life, but it is up to us, whether we choose to deal with both ups and downs with the same attitude.

Observing others and their public appearance of happiness, can sometime get you wondering, how awesome the life of the other is. Little would you know whether the display of happiness is real or not.

Live and let live. Be happy with who you are, where you are and whom you are with. Don't compare, as it is not possible to know what the other person is actually going through in life.

Choose to be happy every morning, no matter what conditions you are in. Spread the happiness to everyone around you. Happiness is infectious. Spread it!
